Full‑time Cook/Baker for School Kitchen

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cook/Baker to join the kitchen team at Joshua Cowell School. The position is full‑time, eight hours per day, Monday‑Friday, with a consistent 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. schedule and a half‑hour lunch break.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake meals and bakery products for the school’s student population, adhering to portion and quality standards.
• Follow all food‑safety protocols, including proper storage, temperature control, and sanitation.
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure the kitchen meets health‑inspection requirements.
• Collaborate with staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and special menus.
• Complete pre‑employment requirements such as TB clearance and fingerprinting.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current food‑safety certification (ServSafe) approved by the district.
• One year of experience preparing large quantities of food or bakery items in a public or commercial setting (preferred).
• Ability to provide a resume, a letter of recommendation, and a ServSafe certificate with the application.
• Preference will be given to internal candidates.
