Full-time Spanish Lecturer (Non-tenure-track)

About the role

Texas A&M University‑San Antonio is seeking a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Spanish lecturer to join its Department of Language, Literature, and Arts. The appointment begins in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 and carries a four‑course teaching load with faculty service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Spanish courses at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels, including day and night sections.
• Provide instruction to first‑generation, non‑traditional, and heritage‑speaker students.
• Participate in departmental service and contribute to program growth.
• Potentially assist with recruitment, retention, and other program‑administration activities.
• Optional summer teaching assignments, subject to availability.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Spanish or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish.
• Minimum of one year of college or university teaching experience.

Required skills

• Ability to teach Spanish language courses across multiple proficiency levels.
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including first‑generation and heritage speakers.
