Full-Time Pharmacist – UHealth Fort Lauderdale

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time pharmacist to join its Fort Lauderdale pharmacy team. The role involves preparing, dispensing, and managing medications while ensuring compliance with university policies and state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
• Compound and dispense medications prescribed by physicians and dentists, accurately calculating and measuring ingredients.
• Assess medication identity, strength, and purity, and ensure proper dosage calculations.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, required ingredients, and suitability.
• Provide drug information, including interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage guidance.
• Analyze prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate use.
• Maintain pharmacy records, inventory, and controlled substance registries.
• Advise customers on medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacist license.
• Minimum one year of relevant pharmacy experience.
