Full-Time Laundry Aide

About the role

The Laundry Aide supports the daily operations of the laundry department in a residential care setting, ensuring clean and safe linens for residents. This full‑time position involves handling, washing, drying, folding, and distributing laundry while complying with sanitation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect soiled linens from each wing and sort them for appropriate washing cycles.
• Prepare garments for washing by unbuttoning, turning pockets out, and unrolling sleeves.
• Operate industrial washers and dryers, add soap solutions and chemicals, and monitor drying cycles.
• Press garments, inspect for damage, fold, and return clean linens to the appropriate storage areas.
• Distribute clean laundry to residents and report unmarked items to social services.
• Maintain laundry equipment, clean lint filters, and perform routine cleaning of washers, dryers, and brine tanks.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, keeping inventory records up to date.
• Collaborate with nursing, physician, and support staff on laundry‑related requests and infection‑prevention measures.

Required profile

• Understanding of federal, state, and local sanitation regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and follow established cleaning schedules.
• Strong attention to detail for inspecting linens and maintaining equipment.
• Good communication skills for interacting with residents and multidisciplinary staff.
