Full-Time Forklift Operator – Portland, OR

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a reliable Full‑Time Forklift Operator to join its Portland, OR service center. You will be responsible for safely moving a variety of freight in and out of enclosed trailers on a roofed, non‑climate‑controlled dock.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to load and unload freight from trailers up to 53 feet long.
• Handle freight safely, ensuring proper placement and securing of loads.
• Read and follow shipping manifests and interact with computer displays to verify shipments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous forklift experience, preferably in a high‑volume or LTL setting.
• Ability to read manifests and work with basic computer interfaces.
