Full-Time Forklift Operator – 3rd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Forklift Operator for its Salem, VA service center. The position is on the 3rd shift, Monday‑Friday from 1:30 AM to 10:00 AM, paying $21.49 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Move freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53 feet long.
• Operate a forklift on a roofed, non‑climate‑controlled dock.
• Read and follow manifests and interact with computer displays to track loads.
• Assist with less‑than‑truckload (LTL) shipments as needed.

Required profile

• Physical ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to read manifests and use basic computer interfaces.
• Preferred: prior forklift experience in a high‑volume setting and some LTL handling background.
