Full Stack Software Engineer, Growth

About the role

OpenAI is seeking an experienced full‑stack engineer to join the new ChatGPT Growth team. You will lead high‑impact projects that expand the user base of ChatGPT and its Plus subscription, working at the intersection of data analysis, product ideation, and rapid experimentation.

Key responsibilities

• Drive long‑term growth of ChatGPT through data‑driven product experiments and optimization.
• Design, build, and maintain backend APIs that power growth‑focused product experiences.
• Collaborate closely with research, product, design, data science, and other engineering teams to deliver measurable impact.
• Identify strategic opportunities and execute projects that remove friction for users.
• Foster an inclusive, radical‑candor culture that encourages diverse perspectives.

Required profile

• Proven track record shipping web features that improve user funnels (landing pages, purchase flows, search, etc.).
• Strong analytical mindset with experience designing and running A/B tests.
• Ability to define and track business metrics and KPIs.
• Self‑motivated learner who shares knowledge clearly.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions.
