Full-Stack Java Developer

About the role

CGI is looking for an enthusiastic Full‑Stack Java Developer to join a high‑performing Agile team building a modern, services‑based web application for a large government agency. You will work with Java, SpringBoot, Angular, PostgreSQL, Docker and other open‑source technologies to deliver a solution that supports federal reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Author and review web‑application code in Java, JavaScript, Spring framework, Angular and SQL.
• Participate in daily team discussions, code reviews and Agile ceremonies.
• Engage with clients, industry partners and end users to provide technical viewpoints.
• Contribute to technical design sessions, create high‑performing features and provide accurate estimates.
• Continuously improve development tools, automate testing scripts and enhance system architecture.
• Understand database design and optimise data access for PostgreSQL.

Required profile

• Creative, detail‑oriented developer who enjoys learning new technologies and solving design challenges.
• Strong background in Java development with full‑stack expertise, including modern Angular versions.
• Experience with Spring framework and RESTful web services.
• US citizenship required; ability to work on‑site in Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN with a hybrid model.
