Full Stack Developer (Angular/NodeJS)

About the role

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join the Veterans Affairs (VA) team. The role is fully remote and focuses on building and maintaining a cloud‑based dashboard that processes healthcare EDI transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and migrate a cloud‑based Web Dashboard for healthcare EDI data.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs in Java and/or NodeJS to retrieve, transform, and serve EDI records.
• Integrate internal platform APIs, EDI pipelines, and data services to deliver live and historical transaction data.
• Contribute to an Angular‑based front‑end, consuming APIs and building UI components.
• Collaborate with C#/.Net and AWS data engineers to define API contracts and ensure reliable data delivery.
• Write clean, testable, well‑documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Perform unit and integration testing for back‑end services and APIs.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of services on AWS.
• Promote best engineering practices within an Agile framework using Git/GitHub.

Required profile

• Experienced developer with a strong background in Java or NodeJS back‑end development.
• Proven ability to work with structured healthcare data and EDI formats.
• Comfortable collaborating in a distributed, Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment.
• Security clearance: Public Trust.
• Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
