Full Charge Bookkeeper

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage all aspects of daily accounting for a company in Kenner, Louisiana. The professional will work independently, applying accrual‑based accounting principles to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee bookkeeping from transaction entry through ledger accuracy and reporting.
• Process vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance‑sheet items.
• Record and review journal entries, including accruals and prepaid adjustments.
• Lead monthly and annual closing procedures within required timelines.
• Prepare recurring financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash‑flow summaries.
• Identify inconsistencies in financial results and initiate corrective actions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑management analysis.
• Coordinate with external accounting and tax professionals, providing documentation for audits and tax filings.
• Administer in‑house payroll for approximately 30 employees.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of full‑cycle bookkeeping or closely related accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Proven ability to complete reconciliations, post journal entries, and manage month‑end close independently.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential financial information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis, reporting, and data organization.
