Frontend Software Engineer

About the role

Northstrat is looking for a motivated Frontend Software Engineer to build intuitive web applications that support a Data Lake/Warehouse platform. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to deliver high‑quality user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Perform code reviews and ensure maintainable, clean code.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and consume REST‑based APIs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer‑reported issues.
• Write unit tests and conduct quality‑assurance testing.

Required profile

• Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• At least 5 years of front‑end development experience.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience (or higher degree).
• Ability to work 2‑3 days per week onsite in Columbia, MD and adapt to schedule changes.

Required skills

• JavaScript (5+ years).
• Experience with one or more frameworks: Vue, React, Angular, Backbone.
• HTML, CSS.
• Git or other version‑control systems.
• Comfort with Unix/Linux command line.
• REST API integration.
• Unit testing and QA testing.
