Frontend Engineer (AI Coding Agents) – Remote, $85/hr

About the role

Mercor is seeking a Frontend Engineer to work with cutting‑edge AI coding agents on complex engineering tasks. This fully remote contract role offers the chance to evaluate and improve model‑generated frontend code for real‑world applications.

Key responsibilities

• Use frontier AI coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI) to complete and assess engineering tasks.
• Review model‑generated frontend code for correctness, quality, maintainability, accessibility, and performance.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in AI‑produced outputs.
• Compare outputs from multiple models and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic frontend scenarios.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Experience building modern web applications with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
• Regular use of AI coding agents for development tasks.
• Ability to evaluate model‑generated implementations, UI architecture, and performance optimizations.
