French Teacher – World Languages Faculty

About the role

Beacon Academy is seeking an experienced French teacher to join its World Languages Faculty. The position can be part‑time or full‑time and involves delivering a student‑centered curriculum across all levels of French language acquisition, from introductory to advanced IB courses.

Key responsibilities

• Teach three sections of French (French I‑IV), covering both IB and non‑IB tracks for grades 9‑12.
• Develop and deliver interdisciplinary, experiential lessons that align with Montessori principles.
• Collaborate with the World Languages Department on curriculum design, vertical alignment, and assessment strategies.
• Plan and lead two one‑week I‑Term courses for high‑school students.
• Participate in faculty, department, and professional‑development meetings.
• Support the school’s DEI and inclusion initiatives and uphold its mission and values.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality of student information.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience teaching French at secondary‑school level, including IB coursework.
• Commitment to student‑centered instruction and experiential learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive community.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional growth and interdisciplinary projects.
