French Teacher

About the role

Lawrence Academy seeks an energetic French Teacher to join its full‑time faculty starting August 2026. The position involves teaching French to grades 9‑12 in a student‑centered, hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach four French sections across grades 9‑12, covering literature, history, culture, and grammar.
• Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
• Provide one‑on‑one tutoring and extra help as needed.
• Participate in boarding‑school life, including curricular, co‑curricular (primarily athletics), extracurricular, and residential programming.
• Fulfill weekday night duty and occasional weekend responsibilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 2‑5 years of French teaching experience.
• Strong background in French language and literature.
• Willingness to engage fully in the residential community and boarding‑school duties.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
