Freelance AI Creative Specialist

About the role

Framestore is hiring a freelance AI Creative Specialist for its Los Angeles team, working remotely or hybrid. Local candidates are preferred, but remote applicants from within the U.S. who can work standard Pacific Time business hours are considered. Project schedules vary, and freelancers are encouraged to stay in touch for future opportunities. The role covers the technical implementation and creative use of emerging technologies in advertising projects, combining Generative AI tools with established VFX techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Support the integration and use of Generative AI and other emerging technologies in advertising production workflows to improve visual output and efficiency.
• Build ComfyUI workflows to create high-fidelity visuals and short-form video content.
• Work with VFX artists to embed AI-generated assets into final deliverables.
• Act as a technical liaison between traditional VFX methods and next-generation production tools.

Required profile

• Valid US work authorization.
• Proven experience in 3D creation workflows and hands-on experience developing, training or integrating AI agents.
• Understanding of advertising production workflows, including pitch development and final execution.
• Ability to solve problems creatively under tight deadlines and varying budgets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proactive approach to R&D.
• Strong visual sensibility for design, composition and cinematography.

Required skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with Generative AI tools in concept development, previsualization and asset creation.
• Experience building custom workflows in ComfyUI.
• Working knowledge of compositing in Nuke, ideally in a commercials environment.
• Solid understanding of traditional VFX pipelines.
• Programming and coding experience is an added bonus.

Pay depends on skills and experience; California employees earn $400-$550 per day (mid level, 4-6 years) and $600-$900 per day (senior, 6+ years).
