Framing Superintendent

About the role

Fortune-Johnson is seeking an experienced Framing Superintendent to lead wood‑framing operations on large‑scale multifamily projects across the Southeast and Mid‑Atlantic. The role focuses on delivering safe, on‑schedule, and high‑quality framing work while collaborating closely with the Project Superintendent and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all framing field activities, coordinating sequencing, scheduling, logistics, and manpower.
• Review framing plans, shop drawings, submittals, and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify long‑lead materials and ensure timely procurement and delivery.
• Oversee framing inspections and guarantee adherence to jurisdictional and project standards.
• Direct framing subcontractors and labor crews, monitoring productivity, quality, and safety.
• Prepare daily reports, QA/QC documentation, punch lists, and safety inspections.
• Stage framing materials, equipment, and tools efficiently to maintain continuous workflow.
• Monitor framing budgets and hold subcontractors accountable for performance and scope.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the project.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in framing or structural construction, preferably on multifamily projects.
• Proactive, organized, and able to work with a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
