Founding Engineer – Baton AI

About the role

We are looking for a Founding Engineer to help build Baton AI’s enterprise automation platform. You will work on a full‑stack web application, API infrastructure and AI‑driven automation tools, shaping the future of cross‑application workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop core components of our full‑stack web app, API services and AI automation platform.
• Tackle complex technical challenges involving AI agents, prompt engineering, evaluation, monitoring, APIs and browser automation.
• Collaborate with early customers and the founding team to define the product roadmap and deliver impactful features.
• Prototype, experiment and ship quickly in a high‑trust, low‑bureaucracy environment.

Required profile

• 3+ years of full‑stack engineering experience.
• Strong passion for building with React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in modern web development using React/Next.js and Node.js.
• Familiarity with Python and Elixir/functional programming is a plus.
• Experience or interest in building rich‑text editors and AI/LLM‑powered workflow automation tools.
• Product‑mindset focused on clean code and great user experience.
• Ability to break down ambiguity and deliver fast.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco (hybrid collaboration).
