About the role

Shiplight AI is building enterprise‑scale automation powered by intelligent agents. As a Founding Engineer, you will help create the first AI‑driven software quality‑assurance platform, enabling product teams to validate work in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core systems that let AI agents autonomously test complex applications.
• Prototype and ship agentic browser and device automation components.
• Collaborate with founders to shape architecture, roadmap, and company culture.
• Experiment with cutting‑edge context‑engineering techniques to improve reasoning and adaptability.
• Move quickly from prototype to production with high ownership.

Required profile

• Mission‑driven and eager to shape the next era of AI‑powered software development.
• Curious, resourceful, and comfortable solving open‑ended problems.
• Hands‑on builder who thrives in early‑stage, high‑speed environments.
• Collaborative mindset that values teamwork and technical debate.
• 1–3 years of startup experience in the AI domain and a desire to grow into a technical leader.

Required skills

• Strong engineering fundamentals and product mindset.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Understanding of context engineering and prompt‑based reasoning systems.
• Familiarity with browser automation, mobile automation, or QA tooling.
