Forward Deployed Engineer – Databricks

About the role

Deloitte is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) specialized in Databricks to help clients translate AI ambitions into enterprise‑scale impact. You will work side‑by‑side with senior client teams, rapidly prototype and deliver high‑impact GenAI solutions, and drive measurable business outcomes from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with clients to identify business needs and convert high‑value GenAI use cases into working solutions.
• Partner with product owners, architects and engineers to align priorities, lead working sessions and shape solution delivery.
• Prototype, build and ship AI‑enabled platforms, agents and workflows using Databricks and related technologies.
• Develop scalable AI engineering patterns, human‑in‑the‑loop controls and production‑grade code with strong testing, CI/CD, logging and documentation practices.
• Contribute reusable assets such as code libraries, prompt collections, runbooks and reference implementations.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate within an FDE pod to ensure consistent delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, data science or analytics engineering.
• 1+ years of hands‑on experience building and deploying GenAI/LLM‑powered solutions in production environments.
• 1+ years of experience with Databricks, including practical work with DBRX, MLflow, Vector Search or Databricks AI Gateway.
