Food Services Employee

About the role

The Food Services Employee works in the college dining hall, preparing and serving meals to students, staff, and visitors. This part‑time position involves a mix of food preparation, equipment operation, and customer service during scheduled mealtimes and occasional events.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food items according to standardized procedures at scheduled mealtimes.
• Assist with banquet, civic group, and reception meals, often outside normal hours.
• Operate, clean, and maintain food‑service equipment, dishwashers, and kitchen utensils.
• Monitor temperatures of coolers, freezers, fryers, and ovens to ensure food safety.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment and follow safety food‑handling protocols.
• Stock shelves, freezers, and coolers as deliveries arrive.
• Provide outstanding customer service, handle cash register transactions, and manage credit‑card operations.

Required profile

• ServSafe certification (must be maintained).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Oral, written, and basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of basic food safety practices and personal hygiene.
• Ability to work flexible early‑morning and evening hours.
