Food Service Worker Level 3

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Food Service Worker 3 to join its team in Augusta. In this role you will prepare, cook, serve and distribute meals to customers, clients and staff while ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve food according to established recipes and nutritional guidelines.
• Operate and maintain specialized food‑service equipment such as ovens, slicers, and dishwashers.
• Distribute meals to designated customers, clients, or employees.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and dining areas in compliance with federal, state and departmental regulations.
• Act as the lead worker on the shift, supervising junior staff and coordinating tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a food‑service setting or equivalent experience as a Food Service Worker 2 (FFS011) or similar role.
• Ability to follow food‑safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.

Required skills

• Operation of standard kitchen equipment.
• Basic food‑preparation techniques.
