About the role
Join the State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities as a Food Service Worker 3 in Columbus. You will prepare, cook, serve, and distribute meals to employees and clients while maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve food to customers, clients, and staff.
- Operate and maintain specialized food‑service equipment.
- Perform general facility and equipment sanitation in line with federal, state, and departmental guidelines.
- Act as the lead worker on the food‑service team.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience in food service or in a lower‑level Food Service Worker 2 position.
- Ability to meet required health evaluations, vaccinations, drug screening, TB test, and annual influenza vaccination.
Required skills
- Food preparation and cooking.
- Operation of specialized food‑service equipment.
- Sanitation and hygiene maintenance.
