Food Runner

About the role

We are looking for a Food Runner to join the Food and Beverage Service team at Makena Golf & Beach Club in Maui, Hawaii. The successful candidate will ensure timely delivery of dishes and maintain a clean dining environment, contributing to the signature Discovery Land Company experience for members and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverage items to the correct seat promptly.
• Clear tables, replenish water glasses, and replace silverware as needed.
• Monitor surrounding areas and remove any unused items.
• Explain menu items to guests and respond to additional requests.
• Assist kitchen staff with plating accuracy and proper condiments.
• Prepare and restock the runner station for each service period.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and answer guest questions.
• Follow restaurant policies, food safety, cleanliness, and security standards.
• Attend briefings, meetings, and training sessions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three months experience in a fine‑dining, high‑volume, resort or private‑club environment.
• Understanding of HACCP and local food safety regulations; ability to obtain a State Food Safety Certificate.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and long shifts.
