Floating Maintenance Technician – Metro at Fireclay

About the role

Greystar is seeking a proactive Floating Maintenance Technician to support the Metro at Fireclay community. The role focuses on maintaining building systems, common areas, and ensuring resident requests are addressed promptly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and maintain timely paperwork.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials responsibly.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including participation in routine safety meetings.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience performing building and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to follow work‑order procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Familiarity with inventory management for maintenance supplies.
• Commitment to safety standards and teamwork with vendors and contractors.
