Floating Maintenance Technician

About the role

A Floating Maintenance Technician at Greystar in Antioch, Tennessee performs technical and mechanical work so that the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas of the property meet the company's standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality. The position is full time and pays $23.00-$26.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident service requests and preventative maintenance, diagnosing problems and repairing them according to policy, safety standards and code requirements.
• Carry out the make-ready process for vacant apartments: pre-move-out inspection, punch list, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, finishing maintenance and inspecting completed work.
• Track inventory, return unused items and notify the maintenance supervisor of re-order needs.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Help maintain grounds, common areas and amenities: pick up trash, pressure-wash breezeways and pool areas, clean and paint curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost control by fixing rather than replacing parts and using materials and tools efficiently.
• Take part in safety meetings, OSHA and other safety training, and report accidents promptly.
• Periodically check contractor and vendor work, and help with property inspections to flag safety and repair concerns.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods, bend, climb ladders, reach, carry objects and crawl in confined spaces.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, and to lift up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with help.
• Flexible schedule, including call duty on evenings, weekends and holidays; occasional travel to other properties or training.
• EPA certification Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling (Certified Service Technicians).
• All state and local certifications required for Service Technicians.
• Valid driver's license to operate a golf cart on property where applicable.
