Flight Instructor – Ground & Simulator Training

About the role

FlightSafety International seeks a skilled Flight Instructor to deliver high‑quality ground and simulator instruction to pilots and aviation professionals. The role is based in Orlando and involves both classroom and hands‑on simulator environments, ensuring trainees meet regulatory standards and client objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ground and full‑flight simulator training for core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
• Develop and prepare training materials aligned with FlightSafety curricula.
• Assess trainee progress, record results, and recommend qualification or additional training.
• Maintain accurate training records for each client.
• Identify training issues early and coordinate assistance as needed.
• Ensure personal instructor qualifications remain current with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Unrestricted ATP certificate or ICAO‑member state ATPL.
• If no ATP, must meet 14 CFR §61.153 and §61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience limitation.
• At least one unrestricted PIC type rating.
• Preferred experience: FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
• Minimum 2,500 total flight hours.
• Willingness to participate in DOT drug and alcohol testing.

Required skills

• Knowledge of aviation safety standards and common regulations.
• Ability to operate and manipulate full‑flight simulator controls from the instructor station.
