Fleet Operations Manager, Autonomous Vehicles

About the role

Avis Budget Group is launching a fully autonomous ride-hailing service in Dallas through a strategic partnership with a self-driving technology company. As Fleet Operations Manager, AV Fleet, you will oversee daily operations of autonomous ride-hail vehicles at the DFW Rental Car Center, leading a team to keep vehicles ready, safe and compliant, and maximizing fleet uptime so customers in the Dallas market always have access to clean, ready vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fleet servicing, including cleaning, charging and calibration, to ensure readiness, safety and compliance with standards
• Oversee vehicle dispatch, movement and staging to maximize uptime and availability
• Oversee diagnostics to fix "no hail" states, coordinating remote actions or on-site response teams
• Manage a team of Fleet Associates, Lot Coordinators and related staff, and run daily operational plans aligned with business objectives
• Forecast, budget and track metrics such as fleet utilization, labor productivity, turnaround times and material costs
• Analyze data to improve processes and reduce downtime, and collaborate with partner and internal departments
• Manage vendor relationships and assist with hiring, onboarding, training, performance management and employee relations
• Ensure a safe work environment and follow safety policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent education, training or experience
• 2+ years of progressive experience in rental car, logistics, fleet management, ride-hail or mobility services, including team management
• Valid driver's license, authorized to work in the United States, and passed pre-employment checks
• Willingness to travel to other market locations and to work flexible schedules including early mornings, nights or weekends
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs with assistance and to work indoors and outdoors
