Fixed Asset Accountant – AHM

About the role

Honda is seeking a detail‑oriented Fixed Asset Accountant to support multiple Business Units within the AHM division. The role focuses on fixed‑asset accounting, lease administration, and financial close activities while collaborating with subsidiaries to drive process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects, capitalization processes, work‑breakdown structures, and asset‑management activities for various AHM business units, including inventory and monthly reconciliations.
• Collaborate with reporting teams to align fixed‑asset activities with financial reporting requirements.
• Prepare journal entries, department accruals, account analyses, and related deliverables for the General Accounting unit, emphasizing fixed‑asset accruals.
• Act as Capital Lease Administrator, reviewing and entering leases into the lease‑management system.
• Support budget‑to‑actual spending analysis, budget development, and coordination across departments, including remote support for the New York office.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial audits, ensuring SOX compliance and completing balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Qualified accounting professional with a strong work ethic and continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Experience in fixed‑asset accounting, lease administration, and financial audit support.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units and subsidiaries.
• Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, and SOX compliance requirements.
