Fitness Specialist – Full-Time

About the role

The Fitness Specialist delivers personalized and group exercise sessions to members and non‑members of the hospital’s fitness center. The role supports the health and wellness mission of Woman’s Hospital by providing safe, evidence‑based training and contributing to member retention initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct one‑on‑one and group training sessions, adapting programs to individual goals and abilities.
• Perform movement screens, fitness tests, and develop appropriate exercise prescriptions.
• Teach group classes as requested by management and seek additional teaching opportunities.
• Maintain accurate member assessment records and ensure programs align with ACSM guidelines.
• Assist with equipment cleaning, maintenance, and participate in retention committee meetings.
• Complete at least three CEU courses annually and share learnings with the fitness team.
• Perform any other duties assigned by hospital management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or a related health discipline.
• Three years of personal training or exercise instruction experience preferred.
• National certification in personal training or exercise physiology (required within 90 days of hire).

Required skills

• Personal training certification.
• Exercise physiology certification.

• Hourly wage ranging from $17 to $24 based on experience.
