Fire Science Lab Assistant (Hall)

About the role

Lanier Technical College is seeking a part‑time Fire Science Lab Assistant for the Hall facility. The role supports the Fire Science Technology program by assisting faculty and ensuring a safe, well‑organized learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping and safety procedures.
• Supervise and mentor students during lab sessions and skill check‑offs.
• Prepare, clean and maintain laboratory equipment and spaces.
• Track attendance, manage lab materials and procure texts or supplies.
• Support special projects or initiatives as directed by the Fire Science Program Director.

Required profile

• Pro‑Board (NPQ) Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications (copy required).
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Fire Science or related field preferred.
• Three years of relevant experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work mornings, up to 29 hours per week, on a part‑time, term‑based schedule.
