Finisher III – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Finisher III to join its Space and Defense Group on the 2nd shift at the Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves completing high‑precision finishing tasks on complex aerospace components while supporting shift‑lead activities.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret operation sheets, blueprints, and sketches to plan and execute the full sequence of finishing work.
• Select, sharpen, and fabricate special tooling as required for each job.
• Choose appropriate lighting aids, inspection gauges, and visual magnification to meet quality specifications.
• Perform finishing on complex bodies with multiple internal hole intersections and occasionally handle tasks performed by Finisher II staff.
• Instruct and assist Finisher II employees on new jobs and methods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and proven ability to follow verbal, written, and computer instructions in English.
• At least three years of experience as a Finisher in a machine‑shop environment.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Required skills

• Finishing operations in a machine‑shop setting.
• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Tool selection, sharpening, and custom tool fabrication.
• Use of inspection gauges and visual magnification equipment.
• Selection of appropriate lighting aids for quality work.
