Finisher III – 1st Shift (Buffalo, NY)

About the role

Moog is seeking a Finisher III for the 1st shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves completing precision finishing tasks on aircraft components, following detailed work instructions and collaborating with the production team.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret operation sheets, blueprints, and sketches to plan the full sequence of work.
• Select, sharpen, or fabricate special tooling as required.
• Choose appropriate lighting aids, inspection gauges, and visual magnification to meet quality standards.
• Perform finishing on complex bodies with multiple internal hole intersections.
• Provide instruction and assistance to Finisher II employees on new jobs and methods.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED (preferred).
• Ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer work instructions in English.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Minimum three years of experience as a Finisher in a machine‑shop environment.

Required skills

• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Tool selection, sharpening, and custom tool fabrication.
• Use of lighting aids, inspection gauges, and magnification equipment.
• Finishing of complex aerospace components.
