Finished Goods Quality Inspector

About the role

The Finished Goods Quality Inspector ensures that completed medical devices and components meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements before they are shipped. This position plays a critical role in protecting patient safety and maintaining product integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of finished goods to detect scratches, blemishes, discoloration, labeling errors, and other defects.
• Conduct dimensional measurements using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify compliance with engineering drawings.
• Verify correct labeling, packaging, and serialization information on each product.
• Review accompanying documentation (Device History Records, Certificates of Analysis) for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify, document, and segregate non‑conforming items and initiate Non‑Conformance Reports.
• Assist with root‑cause analysis and collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and logs in accordance with GMP and company policies.
• Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in a regulated medical‑device environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 13485 standards (preferred).
