Financial Controller

About the role

Legeard Studio is seeking a full‑time Financial Controller to lead day‑to‑day financial operations for its architecture and interior design projects across major U.S. markets. Based on‑site in the New York City Metropolitan Area, you will ensure accurate reporting, robust budgeting, and strategic financial planning to support the studio’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and oversee all accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll coordination.
• Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management for project portfolios and overall studio operations.
• Develop and monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and relevant accounting standards.
• Collaborate with leadership and project teams to provide financial insights, optimize processes, and support long‑term strategic planning.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in accounting and finance with hands‑on bookkeeping experience.
• Proven ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
• Analytical expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and project‑based financial analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Prior experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional, preferably within professional services, design, construction, or related industries.
• Excellent communication skills, high integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality while working on‑site.
