Financial Controller

About the role

General Intuition is building large‑scale action models that operate across virtual and physical environments. As the Financial Controller you will own the full spectrum of US accounting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring accurate books, timely tax filings, and efficient audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger and lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close under US GAAP, including revenue recognition, accruals, capitalization, and reconciliations.
• Oversee US federal and state corporate tax as well as international tax, handling quarterly estimates, filings, cross‑border structures, and transfer‑pricing coordination.
• Maintain payroll compliance, including payroll taxes, filings, and relationships with PEO/providers.
• Lead annual financial statement preparation, audit coordination, investor updates, due‑diligence packages, and management dashboards.
• Design and automate scalable finance processes across accounting, billing, payroll, and reporting to reduce manual effort and error risk.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience, preferably with Big 4 or public‑accounting background.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and financial‑statement preparation.
• Hands‑on experience with US and international tax for multi‑entity structures.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced startup, comfortable with ambiguity and extreme attention to detail.
• Bonus: experience building a finance function from the ground up.
