Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead all accounting and financial reporting functions for Henderson Family Enterprises, providing strategic financial leadership to support growth and profitability. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, strengthens internal controls, and partners with operational leaders to improve business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting functions including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, treasury, fixed assets, credit management, and tax compliance.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Develop, monitor, and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Partner with department leaders to develop budgets, forecasts, and long‑range financial plans.
• Analyze financial performance, budget‑to‑actual results, gross margin trends, and key performance indicators.
• Provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability, cash flow, operational efficiency, and working capital.
• Lead cash management activities, including forecasting, banking relationships, debt compliance, and liquidity planning.
• Coordinate external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.
• Support executive leadership with financial modeling, strategic analysis, and decision‑making initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, ERP optimization, and process enhancements.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and tax compliance.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.
