Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the end‑to‑end financial processes for the business unit, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and effective risk management. This position acts as a strategic partner to operational teams, providing insight for decision‑making while maintaining strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting cycle (AP, AR, GL) and ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Prepare and review financial statements in line with IFRS and group standards.
• Oversee vendor management, invoice processing and working‑capital optimisation for AP.
• Manage AR strategy, credit policy, collections, and bad‑debt provisioning.
• Maintain GL integrity, journal entries, fixed‑asset accounting and depreciation.
• Coordinate tax compliance (corporate, sales, GST/VAT) and liaise with external advisors.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, enforce internal controls and support audit readiness.
• Provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cost‑optimisation support to cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA, CMA or equivalent preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership roles.
• Fluent in English (mandatory); French is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and corporate accounting standards.
• Experience with tax compliance and filing requirements.
• Proficiency in internal control frameworks and audit processes.
• Ability to analyse financial data and deliver actionable insights.
