Financial Controller – Fast‑Growing DTC Consumer Brand

About the role

The company is a rapidly scaling, profitable direct‑to‑consumer consumer brand backed by top‑tier venture capital. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the internal accounting function as the business prepares for a near‑term exit.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the outsourced accounting partner and own the monthly close process, ensuring audit‑ready books.
• Lead the first external audit, including selection and management of the audit firm.
• Drive the transition from QuickBooks Online to a more sophisticated ERP system.
• Partner with the CFO on M&A diligence, post‑close integration, and financial reporting for investors and lenders.
• Build inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing accounting capabilities in‑house.
• Develop and grow an internal accounting team as the business scales.

Required profile

• 8‑12+ years of accounting experience, preferably in high‑growth CPG, consumer or e‑commerce environments.
• CPA certification.
• Hands‑on experience with physical inventory and manufacturing accounting (or strong willingness to learn).
• Proven track record leading an audit and building accounting teams.
• Experience in growth‑stage companies scaling from $20M toward $100M.
• Bias to action, builder mindset, and comfort operating in ambiguity.
