Financial Controller – Digital Music Platform

About the role

The Financial Controller will support the financial performance of a leading global digital music distribution and publishing platform. Based in New York, you will work closely with senior leadership to deliver accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and robust financial controls across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for multiple entities.
• Produce consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss, and cash flow reports.
• Develop and maintain consolidated reporting models and trial balances.
• Deliver monthly management accounts and flash reports with performance insights.
• Conduct budget‑versus‑actual variance analysis and support forecasting and planning.
• Partner with business stakeholders to provide financial insight and recommendations.
• Support annual budgeting processes and ongoing financial planning initiatives.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors, preparing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or a related field.
• Background in senior accounting, finance management, or FP&A roles.
• Experience in multi‑entity financial reporting.
• Exposure to the music, media, entertainment, technology, or SaaS industries is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA qualification or progress toward certification is preferred but not essential.
