Financial Controller (CPA) – Atlanta, GA

About the role

The Financial Controller will act as a strategic business partner to executive leadership while leading the finance and accounting function. This role combines deep analytical expertise with strong technical accounting knowledge to support decision‑making across operational, financial, and strategic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support a high‑performing finance and accounting team.
• Oversee all core accounting functions, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy.
• Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to executive management.
• Create variance analyses, complex financial models, and quarterly presentations for senior leaders.
• Drive the annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Design and implement KPIs, benchmarks, and dashboards for data‑driven decisions.
• Evaluate new business opportunities through financial modeling and risk analysis.
• Identify and implement process improvements across financial systems and workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Current or inactive CPA certification (mandatory).
• 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in professional services.
• Proven ability to build, lead, and develop finance/accounting teams.
• Strong expertise in GAAP, financial modeling, forecasting, and quantitative analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with financial system implementations and process optimization.
