Financial Controller – Apparel & Multichannel Retail

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller with deep knowledge of the import apparel business. You will own the accounting function end‑to‑end across wholesale, marketplace and direct‑to‑consumer channels, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close, delivering GAAP‑compliant P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements by channel.
• Manage landed‑cost accounting for imported goods, including FOB, freight, duties, tariffs, brokerage and FX exposure.
• Oversee wholesale/retail accounting, handling AR, retailer chargebacks, deductions and factor relationships.
• Reconcile marketplace settlements (Amazon, Walmart, etc.) and ensure correct fee and inventory accounting.
• Handle DTC eCommerce accounting, including Shopify orders, payment processor fees, revenue recognition and returns reserves.
• Maintain multichannel inventory valuation across warehouses, 3PLs and fulfillment centers.
• Produce channel‑level and SKU‑level margin analysis, management reporting, KPIs and variance analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial control for an import‑focused apparel or retail business.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, landed‑cost allocation and foreign exchange accounting.
• Ability to manage complex multi‑channel revenue streams and inventory systems.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
