Financial Coaching & Economic Mobility Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a motivated intern to support its Financial Coaching team during the Fall 2026 term. This unpaid position will help clients access loan products, improve financial capability, and develop educational resources.

Key responsibilities

• Support facilitation of credit education and financial literacy training with clients.
• Assist in developing and updating workshop curricula on financial topics.
• Research local agencies to expand community partnerships and referral networks.
• Create personal finance tools and translatable user guides for client use.
• Help clients complete Center for Economic Opportunity loan applications and open bank accounts.
• Participate in staff, team, and training meetings.
• Provide general administrative support as needed.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Strong interest in working with diverse, global client populations.
• Familiarity with a coaching model and related activities.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and respect.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to at least 10 hours per week for a minimum of three months.
• Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle preferred.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.
• Internet research capability.
