Financial Analyst – Commercial FP&A

About the role

Sonoco is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Commercial FP&A team. Reporting to the Director of Commercial FP&A, you will drive annual planning, forecasting, financial reporting and strategic analysis for a global packaging leader.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with sales, manufacturing and corporate finance.
• Prepare pro‑formas, discounted cash‑flow models, ROI analyses and business valuations for expansion, acquisitions and divestitures.
• Support division‑level financial close activities and coordinate internal audit and SOX compliance.
• Develop and implement templates to improve reporting, forecasting, planning and analytics.
• Conduct statistical and industry research, review capital project financial projections and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Train new manufacturing and sales personnel on Sonoco accounting and financial systems.
• Perform other ad‑hoc financial analysis and special project work as assigned.

Required profile

• Four‑year undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (or equivalent).
• Preferred certifications: CPA or CMA.
• Experience in manufacturing or a strong understanding of Sonoco’s business.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to work across multiple disciplines.
