Financial Aid Coordinator

About the role

The Financial Aid Coordinator provides secondary leadership within the Financial Aid office, supporting staff and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position plays a key role in interpreting regulations, processing applications, and advising students and parents on financial aid options.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily procedures related to financial aid operations and serve as the initial point of contact for processing staff (25%).
• Research and interpret federal and state eligibility, student loan, and verification regulations (15%).
• Process applications and corrections, track documents, complete verification, and generate student notifications (15%).
• Supervise and maintain up‑to‑date policies and procedures for selected functional areas within the department (15%).
• Counsel and advise students and parents regarding financial aid programs (15%).
• Assist in developing policies and procedures to meet program goals and requirements (10%).
• Perform other duties as assigned (5%).

Required profile

• Knowledge of student financial aid processes, federal, state, and institutional sources of aid.
• Familiarity with college, state, and federal financial aid regulations and guidelines.
• Understanding of institutional policies, procedures, and administrative practices.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
