Finance Manager – Prisons and Justice Initiative

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the financial operations of Georgetown University's Prisons and Justice Initiative (PJI). This one‑year renewable position supports strategic decision‑making through budgeting, forecasting, grant compliance, and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor program budgets and financial activity.
• Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and reports for PJI leadership.
• Ensure compliance with university financial policies and sponsored project requirements.
• Oversee financial transactions, reconciliations, and coordination with central university finance offices.
• Advise leadership on resource allocation and financial planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in financial analysis, accounting, or financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze budgets, financial statements, and data.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
