Finance Manager - Local Delivery

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Manager of Finance for its Local Delivery function. The role provides full financial leadership, direction and analysis to the functional management team and sits within the strategic leadership team for the function. It drives functional metrics, controls costs and works closely with finance leadership to achieve business goals and create shareholder value. The position has no direct reports and typically involves 5% to 20% overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the business and identify and implement process and organizational improvements, while planning and ensuring execution of department objectives.
• Take part in preparing the annual budget, review monthly expenditures and metrics, and recommend financial plans for the function.
• Lead, plan and coordinate work teams, using metrics to track performance and manage workload.
• Ensure operational processes comply with established policies.
• Drive key functional financial metrics.
• Build a strategic alliance with business partners and take part in cross-functional activities that solve business issues.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication with Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate, Operations and Information Systems.

Required profile

• Age of 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
• 5 years of preferred work experience.
• Reports to a Director-level manager; no direct reports.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Knowledge of business and management principles used in strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Project management skills, prioritization and multitasking.
• Judgment and decision-making based on relative costs and benefits.
