Field Technician I – Smart Water Meter Services

About the role

The Field Technician I provides on‑site technical support for advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and automatic meter reading (AMR) systems. Working closely with sales, utility partners, and distributors, the technician ensures smart water meters and communication devices operate reliably across Louisiana and Mississippi.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site technical support for AMR/AMI equipment.
• Oversee installations, diagnose communication, electrical, and software issues.
• Maintain clear communication with property staff and management, delivering timely updates.
• Document activities, generate accurate reports, and track data for performance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve operational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• One year of technical customer‑service experience preferred.
• Ability to install, repair, and maintain field equipment.
• Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Strong time‑management, organizational, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with AMR/AMI systems.
• Basic electronics installation and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of water, gas, or electric meter technologies.
• Familiarity with RF transmitters and data‑collection devices.
• Proficiency in Excel and database handling.
