Field Technician I – Entry Level

About the role

SGS is seeking a detail‑oriented Field Technician I to join its Saint Rose team. This entry‑level position supports field operations by collecting and preparing samples, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining equipment standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect samples and conduct observations of products, raw materials, and equipment at designated field locations.
• Label sample containers and documentation with location, date, and time information.
• Transport samples to the laboratory or designated facilities promptly.
• Prepare, reduce, and divide samples according to established procedures.
• Perform sample screening and other physical tests as directed.
• Maintain and organize equipment and containers before and after use.
• Wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety processes.
• Communicate field observations and task completion to supervisors.
• Assist with additional laboratory or preparation tasks as business needs require.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license (as needed for role).
• Intermediate written and verbal English.
• Basic mathematical ability and ability to read technical documents.
• Reliability, punctuality, and strong safety compliance.
• Physical capability to perform field work and handle equipment.
