Field Service Support Technician (I/II/III)

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The i-Team Field Service Support Technician provides on-site preventive and remedial maintenance for advanced equipment, traveling extensively across assigned territories. This role ensures equipment reliability and customer satisfaction while supporting the development of next-generation semiconductor chips.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily work schedules to complete preventive maintenance and remedial tasks within the assigned territory.
• Perform periodic maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual) and wet-clean procedures on systems.
• Conduct Tier II start-ups, assist with Tier III start-ups, and provide technical assistance to junior personnel.
• Instruct customers on equipment operation and maintenance, and troubleshoot process variations.
• Track equipment performance, implement productivity improvements, and apply statistical process control methods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Physically demanding work requiring walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lb, and use of clean-room personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work in noisy environments and tight spaces.
