About the role
As a Field Service Engineer in Applied Materials’ graduate rotational program, you will work directly with customers to install, maintain, and upgrade advanced semiconductor and display equipment. The role combines hands‑on technical work with digital analytics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues, providing a fast‑track path for new engineers to develop field expertise.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with equipment installation, preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and upgrades.
- Follow training procedures and published task plans to test equipment and diagnose technical problems.
- Complete required documentation, safety training, and adhere to environmental and COVID‑19 guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers, applying a “customer first” mindset to ensure smooth operations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Up to 1 year of relevant experience, internship, or military technical training.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
Required skills
- Digital analytics for troubleshooting.
- Hand tools and digital multimeter usage.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
